Understanding the "Group Name" and "Unique Name" Fields on Investment Vehicles

Overview
In our Salesforce client orgs, we use the "Group Name" and "Unique Name" fields on the Investment Vehicle records to support investors with multiple commitments to the same fund.
When an investor is invested in more than one commitment, these commitments are typically tied to different investment vehicles but sometimes there is a need for the investor to have multiple commitments to the same fund through the same Investment Vehicle name. By default, our system only pulls a a single commitment for each vehicle when creating fund communications, which means other commitments tied to the same vehicle may be missed.
Solution
To ensure all commitments are captured in a single fund communication, we will create multiple Investment Vehicle records under the same investor-facing name. For example, “MadeUp Ventures.” Each of these records will be tied to their own unique Capital Commitment. (refer to screenshots below)

To help our internal system differentiate between these duplicate-named vehicles, we use the "Group Name" field. This acts as a backend identifier to group investment vehicles with the same display name. The investor, however, will still see just one name ("MadeUp Ventures") in the investor portal, maintaining a clean and unified experience. Screenshot at the bottom of this section shows how the LP will view their commitments from two identically named Accounts using Group Names.
Once the Group Name is inputted, save the record and the Unique Name field will be automatically concatenated with the Investment Vehicle (Account Name) and Group Name fields.
The "Unique Name" field ensures that each investment vehicle record remains technically distinct, even if the portal-facing investment vehicle names are the same. When the investor submits unique wire instructions for each vehicle that is broken out, it can be identified on their end by noticing the drop-down list where the Investment Vehicle name will be in the format "Account Name - Group Name".

Complications
As Xero mapping requires a 1:1 of investment vehicles to GL codes, the Xero GL Codes will need to be separated for duplicate vehicles (such as 130 and 130.1). When offering this as a solution, please discuss these and other difficulties that may arise from this situation.
