Install Lightning for Gmail in Google Chrome

This guide will walk you through how to set up Lightning for Gmail in your Chrome Browser. And while in Gmail, you can view and relate relevant Salesforce content on the emails, such as contacts, accounts, and more.


Install Lightning for Gmail Chrome Extension

Before you can experience Lightning for Gmail, you have to first add the Lightning for Gmail extension to your Chrome browser. 

  • Click here to be redirected to the Lightning for Gmail extension in the Chrome Web Store.

  • Click Add to Chrome.



Verify that the extension has been enabled. 

  • Login to your Chrome Extension window.

  • Make sure Salesforce Lightning for Gmail extension is enabled.



Connect Lightning for Gmail with your Salesforce Org

After adding Lightning for Gmail to Chrome, your Lightning for Gmail will be accessible in the Gmail side panel. To gain access to your Salesforce data, you will first need to login to Salesforce from the Lightning for Gmail side panel.


Please note: Users only need to login to Salesforce once from their Gmail side panel. Afterward, they automatically will have access to their Salesforce data from within Lightning for Gmail.


In the Lightning for Gmail side panel:

  • Click the Salesforce icon.
  • Click Log in to Salesforce.

  • Enter your Salesforce username and password

  • Click Log In.
