Creating a GP Commitment

Steps for Creating a GP Commitment

1. Create an 'Investor account and name it 'General Partner'

2. Create an 'Investment Vehicle' Account for the GP entity that has a capital commitment to the fund. Place this Investment Vehicle under the Investor parent account that you created in the previous step.

3. Link the 'Investment Vehicle' created in Step 2 to the Fund via a Capital Commitment. To create this link, you will need to first navigate to the Fund and then press the 'New Capital Commitment' button.

4. Edit the Capital Commitment record created in Step 3 to check off the 'GP Commitment' field. This will then roll-up and populate the GP Commitment field on the Fund record.

Please note: The 'Total Called' and 'Percent Called' fields for at least the historical capital calls should be updated so that the fund record's calculations are accurate.  It is also a good idea to eventually update the historical capital accounts and distributions - but these updates are not as pressing.
