Creating a Portfolio Company

Once you are logged into the client's Salesforce database, navigate to the 'Portfolio' application. You will know if you are in the correct application by checking the name of the app at the top right of your screen. If you see something other than 'Portfolio' at the top right of your screen, select the drop down and press 'Portfolio'.

Now that we are using the Portfolio app, we can navigate to the 'Company Summary' tab where we can add portfolio companies and any additional information related to the portfolio. 


First, create a Company Summary by navigating to the 'Company Summary' tab and pressing 'New'. 


The following fields should always be filled in for new companies entered into the database: 


  • Company Summary Name
  • Stage (Portfolio = Active and Realized = Exit)
  • Xero GL Code
