This article will explain how to create new roles for Contact Roles in Salesforce.
Locating Contact Role in Setup
First, you will need to navigate to the roles field for contact role by going to setup. For lightning, it can be accessed by clicking the gear icon in the top right, for classic, it should say setup.

In Setup, you will need to search for object in the search bar to the left and type, object.

After typing object, you will need to click either Object Manager for Lightning or Objects under the Create section for classic

Afterwards, you will need to locate the contact role object link and click, contact role

Locating the Role field within the Contact Role Object
Now that you are in the contact role object, you will need to locate the Role field and click, Role under the Custom Fields & Relationships section in Classic or, the Fields & Relationships section in Lightning.

WARNING, DO NOT DELETE, DEACTIVE OR REMOVE ANY OF THE STANDARD ROLES LISTED BELOW
To create a new Role, click the New button in the Values section
You can create multiple roles at the same time by indenting between each role like so, then, click Save when completed.
