IRR

To view all the Cash Flows contributing to the Fund IRR, you can use the IRR Calculator from the Fund, and get Net IRR and Gross IRR Cash Flows.

DPI, TVPI, and MOIC

DPI, TVPI, and MOIC are calculated automatically in FundPanel, where in the workbooks these are calculated quarterly.

  • DPI is automatically calculated whenever a new distribution or capital call is issued

  • TVPI is automatically updated in FundPanel whenever a new distribution, capital call, or capital account is issued or update

  • MOIC is automatically calculated when a new Investment is made, a realized gain/loss occurs, or FMV is updated

You can pull the raw data from these graphs on the Fund Details page to view EOM Metrics. Click the link for Instructions for pulling the raw data from Dashboard widgets (individual graphs and charts).

For information on calculating these metrics manually from the information in the Funds page visit: DPI, TVPI, MOIC Financial Workbook and FundPanel Calculations

Investments Tie-Out Issues

If you are having issues with the SOI tying, running this Transaction Audit report can be helpful to isolate which transactions may be causing an issue.

Ownership Percentage

Ownership percentage is ((Shares) X (Conversion Ratio)) / Total Fully Diluted Shares

The fields used for these calculations pull from different records. Below is a list of each field and their corresponding record.

  • Total Fully Diluted Shares (entered in as a capitalization in Company Summary)

  • Conversion Ratio (editable field in Round Details)

  • Current Shares (Transaction)

  • Shares (Transaction)

Cost/ Total Capital Deployed Double Counting After a Merger

If the Total Capital Deployed or Cost is off and you determine it to be off by the amount converted from one equity investment to another equity investment, it may be that this conversion was not booked correctly in FundPanel. Visit recording an Equity to Equity Conversion for steps.

Fund Metrics as of Quarter End

To view Contributed Capital and Distributions as of Quarter end, navigate to the Fund in the Investor Relations app.  Click into the Capital Account parent for the period you want to see.

Scroll to the YTD/ITD Values.  The ITD Value will give you totals as of the date of the Capital Account.
