Sync Google Contacts with your Android Address Book

This guide will walk you through how to sync the contacts in your Google account with your Android Address Book. Salesforce contacts can be synced to Google contact folder via Lightning Sync. These newly synced Salesforce Contacts in Google can then be synced to your Android Address Book. Afterward, incoming phone calls from a synced Salesforce contact will be recognized by the user's Android. The Android will present user with the Salesforce Contact’s Name, Company and Title on the incoming call.

Lightning Sync Contacts folder in Google

Once Lightning Sync is successfully set up between Salesforce and your G Suite server then a “Salesforce Sync” contact folder will automatically be created in your Contact tab in Google. User’s contacts that are synced from Salesforce to G Suite server will be located in the Salesforce Sync contact folder. Contacts that are synced in the Salesforce Sync folder can be moved to the My Contacts folder and synced to user’s Android Address Book.

Please Note: Newly synced Salesforce contacts are not automatically moved from the Salesforce Sync subfolder to the My Contacts folder. You must manually move the contacts in the Salesforce Sync subfolder to the My Contacts folder. Only Google contacts that are in the My Contacts folder can be synced to your Android Address Book.

From your Google app:

  • Click into your Contacts tab.

  • Click Salesforce Sync subfolder under the My contacts folder.

  • Select all the contacts that you want to be synced to your Android Address Book.

  • Click the Three Person icon dropdown menu.

  • Select My Contacts checkbox.

  • Click Apply.
