Introduction

If your FundPanel system was set up recently, it is highly recommended that you review the following articles to ensure everything is in place prior to uploading Fundraising data:

These articles walk through setting up all of the needed objects for fundraising data (Fund, Investor, Investment Vehicle, Capital Commitment). These must first be created before any fundraising related information can be uploaded to the portal.

This article is specific to the “Fundraising” document type. If would like to learn more about uploading portal documents for other document types, please visit this article on How to Upload a Portal Document.

Who Can See Fundraising Documents?

All investment information within the investor portal, including fundraising documents, is made visible via Contact Roles. An LP or related contact belonging to an Investment Vehicle will only be able to see fundraising documents if they have been assigned the “Fundraising” contact role within Salesforce. In the below image, for example, April would be an eligible contact to view fundraising documents within the portal:

Uploading a Fundraising Portal Document

Navigate to the “Document Uploader - Portal” tab within the Investor Relations application.

The first page will have you fill in the Document details. There are two “Attachment Type” options: “Fund Wide” & “CommitmentDocuments

  • Fund Wide documents, once uploaded, will upload the document to all Investment Vehicles within the portal.
  • Commitment documents are uploaded to specific Investment Vehicles & will be visible only to the Investment Vehicles to which the document has been attached.

Uploading Fund Documents

To upload a fund wide document, the below examples shows the appropriate attachment type to select:

Once the appropriate selections have been made, press “Next” to proceed to the next page, where you will use the “Choose File” option to select your document for upload to the fund:

Once your document upload is complete, the following success message will display:

Uploading Commitment Documents

Uploading a commitment document is very similar to a fund wide document. On the initial upload page, simply select “Commitment Document” instead & fill out the rest of the information appropriately:

Once the appropriate selections have been made, press “Next” to proceed to the next page, where you will use the “Choose File” option to select your document for upload for each Commitment:

Once all the documents have been uploaded for each Investment Vehicle, press “Confirm & Upload Documents”. The following success message will display:

NOTE: If you encounter any error message instead of the success message shown above, please contact support@fundpanel.io and we will get the issue resolved.

Viewing Documents in the Investor Portal

Once the document has been uploaded, you can confirm that it is visible to LPs by logging in to the investor portal via the admin login.

  • A fund wide document will appear for any LP, so you can open up any Investment Vehicle related to the fund to which you have uploaded the document.
  • A commitment-specific document will appear only for the entity to which the document was attached. Open the specific Investment Vehicle to review the document under that entity’s “Fundraising” tab.

The following image shows an example of the “Fundraising” tab & all attached documents:

The Fundraising Tab is Not Showing!

If the Fundraising tab is already enabled and is still not showing, please follow the steps outlined in this article. There must be at least one document uploaded to the Fundraising tab before the tab will become visible on the portal.
