TABLE OF CONTENTS

Step 1: Activate the Fundraising Tab

First, you will need to turn on the Fundraising tab. This can be done from the admin section of the investor portal.

  • Once on the Admin page, select "Organization Settings"

  • Click on the box next to Fundraising Tab Visible to enable the tab.

  • Enter in the title you want to use for the Fundraising Tab, e.g. "Aduro Ventures Data Room" in the Fundraising Tab Alternate Label box.

  • Click SAVE SETTINGS to save your changes.

Fundraising Tab Use Cases

Prospective Investors

If you want to host documents for prospective investors, or related to a new fund or entity your client is raising for, create the new Fund in FundPanel and assign prospective LPs a $0 commitment to tie them to the Fund so they'll be able to access documents. If your fund is already created in the system, and some Investors have already closed, you may wish to still create a separate fund for fundraising purposes. This will allow you to maintain a better distinction investors with data room access and investors are already subscribed to the fund.

Enhanced Document Hosting

You can also use the Fundraising Tab as a more robust data room for current Investors then just using the documents tab. Where in the documents tab you are limited to the existing folder types: General, Cash Distribution, Stock Distribution, Capital Call, Tax, and Financial, you add custom folders to the fundraising tab and host different documents such as LP Letters, Investment Performance Documents, team bios, etc.

Assigning the FundRaising Contact Role to Existing LPs

If your client would like to enable the Fundraising tab to host documents for exisitng LPs, you can use the Manage Contact roles tab to assign the Fundraising role to existing LPs.

Adding the LPs and Assigning Commitments

To add prospective LPs to the data room, you will need to create an Investor and Investment Vehicle in FundPanel, and then tie the Investment Vehicle to a fund by assigning a $0 commitment from the Investment Vehicle to the Fund.  You can then add contacts for the prospective LP and assign those contacts the Fundraising role.  This commitment will allow the LP to be activated as a portal user, granting them access to the data room hosted on the Investor Portal.

Step 4: Upload Documents

Finally, use the document uploader on the Fund level to post the documents. Detailed instructions on how to upload portal documents at the fund level can be found at this link.
