How to Create a New Fund Family

This article will explain how to create new Fund Families in Salesforce.



CREATING THE FUND FAMILY


  1. Begin by navigating to the fund family field in Salesforce by clicking on the Setup icon in the top right
  2. Type Object in the Quick Find search box in the top left and press Object Manager
  3. Type fund in the search bar, then press the Fund object
  4. Select Fields & Relationships
  5. Search for fund family in the search bar and select the Fund Family picklist field
  6. Scroll down until you see the Values section and press the New button
  7. In the text box in the middle, type in the names of the new fund families you would like to create.  Make sure to separate the names by an indent like in the example below
  8. Once you have added the names to the text box, select the record type you would like to add the fund family names to.  For this example, I will use Standard.  Once selected, press Save and you have now created new fund families!



Applying the Fund Family to a Fund

  1. Navigate to the fund you would like to apply the fund family to and press the Edit button
  2. Select the Fund Family picklist field and select the fund family you wish to apply to the fund and press Save
