FundPanel allows for investor portal documents to be uploaded either as fund wide documents or as commitment-specific.
- Fund Wide Documents are documents that are available to all Investment Vehicles related to the specific Fund record and any Contacts with the appropriate contact role will be able to see it. (Ex: If it is a 'General' Fund Wide document then Contacts with the 'General' contact role to an Investment Vehicle that has a commitment to the related Fund record will be able to see the Fund Wide document.)
- Commitment Documents are documents that are available to specific Capital Commitment related to the Fund record and any Contacts with the appropriate contact role will be able to see it. (Ex: If a user has a 'Tax' document that is specific to a Capital Commitment or a related Investment Vehicle then a Contact would need the 'Tax' contact role to the specific Investment Vehicle to be able to view the Commitment Specific document.)
- Client Wide Documents are documents that will post one for all LPs, so that documents will not be duplicated for LPs with Commitments in multiple funds.
- A note on uploading K-1s: It is recommended to remove password protection from K-1s prior to uploading them as a portal document, as users must log into the portal in order to access the document.

Select the Document SubType
Please note: If you have folders enabled in the FundPanel portal, then the document will be placed in a subfolder with the name of the SubType
Select the appropriate date in the Document Date picklist.
Not: The 'Document Date' is not referring to the date the document is being uploaded, but rather it is the date that best corresponds with the document. So for example, if it was a Capital Call document I'd probably use the Due Date of the Capital Call. If it was the annual financials for 2015, I'd probably use 12/31/2015. If it was a K-1 for 2015, the date would be 12/31/2015, etc.

To enable the Subfolders in the Portal, you just need to be sure that the Documents tab folders checkbox is selected.
To select Documents Folders enabled:
- Log into the Investor Portal with an Admin login
- Click Admin at the top right Corner
- Click Organization settings
- Scroll down to the Action Buttons section, and check the box next to Documents Folders Active
- Ensure you click Save Settings at the top!
Posting a document under a Subfolder functions the same way as posting a document under the main folder. Use the Document Uploader, select the Attachment Type (Commitment, Fund, Organization), Document Type, and then the Document SubType. Choose the document date and continue uploading as usual.
You can also add new Subtypes/Subfolder names by clicking on the Add/Edit Type button under the Document SubType selection box.
- In the Add Document Subtype(s) window, you can type in all document Subfolder titles you want to add. Ensure that every Subfolder title is on its own line.
- Next, select the Attachment types you could like to add the Subfolder for, this will ensure the Subfolder is available for the correct type of Attachment (e.g. Fund Wide, Commitment Wide). You can use control + click to select them all.
- Once you have all the Subfolders added and the correct Attachment Types selected, click Save Changes.
- Once the changes are saved, you can return to the Document Uploader and upload all Documents. e in the Subtype Edit window:
